My previous encounter of using quite a few cleansing oils has left me with bad experiences. And as results, I have decided not to look at any cleansing oil again. After reading several beauty blogs, on the benefits of using cleansing oils, I decided to give it one more try. So off I went and bought Superfacialist Vitamin C Cleansing Oil.
After several uses, I will describe it as a lightweight cleansing oil. The formulation is a combination of several oils such as Vitamin C, Olive, Grapeseed, Rosemary, Vitamin E, Cucumber and Rosehip. It has a light citrus smell which I find to be very uplifting and makes the whole experience very pleasant. It can be used both or either morning and night, though I prefer using this at night time mostly. I tend to use it alone as part of a double cleanse routine or as a different facial cleanser in addition.
I enjoyed using the product the first time. This is because I used it as a cleansing oil and massage oil. On contact with water, the cleansing oil transform into a milky lotion. This can easily be rinsed off with water.
Why Are People Scared of Cleansing Oil?
When people hear the word OIL in any facial cleanser, they automatically assume the following:
- It would be hard to use
- Additional product is required to get rid of any residual
- My face will feel too greasy afterwards
This is not the case with me using this product.
I am not heavily into makeup, so I couldn’t comment on how good it is in removing heavy makeup. And as for the brightening effect, I am yet to experience that as I assumed it is subjected to continuous usage. Overall this is a keeper for me.
Be aware! It will hurt slightly if the product gets into your eyes. So one needs to be careful when using this product especially if you have sensitive skin. On the packaging, it states that those with sensitive skin should do a patch test because a flushed skin appearance may occur during usage. This is as a result of the high Vitamin C content.
The packaging is also very good because when you lift up the cover it has a small hole at the top. This mean it is easy to dispense the required amount without having to waste the product.
Please note that I have combination skin that is prone to breakout.
Have you ever tried using cleansing oil? If yes, what is your favourite brand and what has been your experience?
